San Francisco 49ers' Ted Ginn Jr. thrilled with New Jersey, NFL rules

Rookies are not the only ones excited to see their name on an NFL jersey this exhibition season.
Sixth-year veteran Ted Ginn Jr. loves the new look of his 49ers uniform, which he would draw on Saturday for the show in Houston.
That's right, "Ginn Jr.," as it reads on his back, finally.
"It's something I've been trying to do for a long time," said Ginn, "but was not able to do, come RG3 up in the league."
RG3 Robert Griffin III, would, last year's Heisman Trophy winner, was second in total are drafted by the Washington Redskins. Share initials with the League Commissioner Roger Goodell, perhaps carries clout.
This season, the NFL players are allowed to wear the title of generations on their uniforms. Some call it the "RG3 rule." Ginn calls it great.
"When you think about the pros, so be it," Ginn said. "I've never understood why they did not 'Jr.' have set, or "III" on the backs of the jerseys. Every day I get to "Jr. 'Look at my jersey. "
The first day he saw it, he took a picture on his cell phone and sent it to his father, an accomplished trainer in Glenville High in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ted Ginn Sr. loved not only the picture, he was almost a member of the 49ers this summer. Coach Jim Harbaugh invited to intern the elder Ginn on his staff as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship set up, the Walsh 25 years ago in his penultimate season as coach of the 49ers.
"It was hard for

him to get up and walk away from the (Glenville) program, "Ginn Jr. said." He is more committed to the children than the actual coaching. "
Aside from coaching awards, put Ginn's father in 2007, a school for at-risk youth, the Ginn Academy. "Deep inside, I think (Harbaugh) would try to keep him around," added Ginn Jr..
The 49ers re-signed March Ginn as their return specialist and backup receiver, roles he held, as it is acquired him in a 2010 trade with the Miami Dolphins. Before signing his one-year contract, Ginn took free agency visits to the Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.
Not Ginn could participate in the 49ers 'offseason practices while recovering from minor knee surgery. It is the right knee injury in the 49ers' playoff-opening victory over the New Orleans Saints, and his absence was noticed in the NFC Championship Game defeat as two punt returns by Kyle Williams went wrong.
Ginn has shown no signs of knee problems in training camp. He started at wide receiver in the exhibition-opening victory over Minnesota on 10 August, but was not used as a returner. Harbaugh declined to reveal Thursday whether Ginn would be set up barges in Houston.
Ginn said his time helped off the field this offseason to him: a) more upper-body muscles, (b) a greater appreciation for soccer, and, (c) a much closer bond with his family, including his fiancee, Krystle McCoy, and their 2-year-old twins, and Ted Ginn Kyrsten III.
Yes, one day it may be a uniform for TG3. Move over, RG3.

Saturday game marked the 49ers' first in Houston in October 2009, a loss to the Texans wide receiver Michael Crabtree as his '49 debut after a contract stalemate. "I've grown a lot," said Crabtree. "Only really going on is my fourth year, that's crazy. I learn every year better and better, stronger and stronger, (and) to be like a pro."

The 49ers have 12 players whose hometowns are in Texas, including rookie safety Michael Thomas, a native of Houston and Stanford product. The state with the most home towns under 49ers: California, 14
